Memories became the starting

shot to a new publishing house

Volenza is a small publishing house with both books and records. But this was never the idea from the beginning.

The year was 2005 and I had just finished writing my memoars, Trots och tack vare. After several contacts with different publishing companies it was clear that if they should decide, this book would never become what I wished for. So I founded my own publishing firm instead and published the book myself. The Publishing House of Volenza was born.

The name Volenza is a self made construction from the latin volare (fly) and volens (willing), two words that have characterized my life to a high extent.

Already in 1975 I had helped my father publishing the poetry collection  Minnesbilder från Möja skärgård (Recollections of the Möja Archipelago). The remaining edition was incorporated in Volenza's publishing.

When the idea of producing the first jazz album We Like Previn first took place, it felt natural to use Volenza as a publishing house and record label. Volenza has thus become a publishing house in a wider meaning.
